I consider it an honour to be a part of the thanksgiving event for the very many ways God has been directing and guiding the Afghan Mission for the last 15 years through the very many dedicated Jesuits, generous donors, committed partners, selfless volunteers and co-workers

at various levels. Truly it is a mission shared by so many.

I thank God and all those of the past and present, for making all that has happened in Afghanistan possible through JRS. It is truly a mission of reconciliation and rebuilding of the lives of the victims. I was delighted to

see the fruits of their tireless labour during my recent visit to the JRS works in Afghanistan. Life becomes more meaningful when we live for others and when we add more love, justice and human dignity to those around us. In this sense, I also consider it a privileged blessing to join the present team in their efforts to bring about a better tomorrow for the least of the Afghans. I implore God Almighty to continue to lead us forward as He has always done.
