For almost a year now, I have been part of Jesuit Refugee Service

in Afghanistan. When I was assigned to the Afghan mission, I was clueless about what I was going to do. With faith and trust in God,

I came to Afghanistan with a hope to be an instrument in Divine hands to accompany the people who have lost everything in war

and violence forced upon them.

When I reached Afghanistan, I noticed uncertainty in every aspect

of life. Lives of people affected by war, drought, and poverty; the dreams of girls that could be snatched any moment by the family or social situations; access to quality education; support from donors; and now the outbreak of COVID-19. Irrespective of all the challenges,  life in Afghanistan and our mission continues with hope.

JRS has given hope in the lives of so many people. It is a spiritual experience for me to see how God is using us to bring transformation. It is a wonderful experience to live the Gospel without preaching it. The great aspirations of the students who come to our centres, fighting against all the challenges, and the efforts they generously invest to achieve their dreams, fascinate and inspire me to do my little part to help them in their journey. Every day is a challenge. However miraculously every challenge transforms into an opportunity.

Every day is a challenge
