Joseph Batac
I met Fr. Santiago when I stayed in the Kabul Guest House in late spring 2005. I highly admire the deep sense of purpose about what was at that time still a work in progress. I always looked forward to having dinner and breakfast with him, trying to figure out how to find ways to support the people in Afghanistan. In 2008, I was given the chance to host Fr. Maria Joseph when teaching in Balkh University. By this time, every travel in and out of the country included a stay at the JRS house in New Delhi, where I was able to meet regularly with Frs Stan and Jimmy, as well as other members of the JRS community. After working in Afghanistan, and up to the present time, my relationship with JRS continued as I am constantly in touch, among others, with Fr. Maria Joseph, especially during the difficult last decade when I was taking care of my now departed parents. I consider myself extremely lucky to have the JRS community as part of my life in the last 15 years. I wish to thank them with heartfelt sincerity for all the prayers and guidance they have shared in my journey in life.
