Edris Sharify

In 2006, I was studying English at Herat University when the Head of Department came with a foreigner to our class. We thought he was from a donor organization or wanted to discuss studies abroad with us. I found he was Mr Jerome, who taught us for 6 semesters along with other JRS professors. It was a great initiative and support to our faculty those years.

I later found he was working with an organization called JRS, which focused on education. Soon after I graduated, I joined JRS as a program assistant in Herat. I served 3 years with JRS, and after a decade, good memories remain and I feel like I am still a member of this team. I learned a lot and will always have gratitude towards JRS.

Gratitude is meaningless unless it is shared. Being part of JRS was a stepping stone towards my goals. You do such a great job day in, day out. I appreciate your dedicated commitment and just want to let you know that the things you do for humanity do not go unnoticed. I know how challenging it is and appreciate the enormous effort. What a privilege to be a part of such an amazing foundation, filled with such amazing people! No words could really capture the joyous feeling in my heart.
