Joseph Xavier SJ
I feel immensely grateful to you, Jesuits, collaborators and volunteers, as the Afghan mission completes 15 years of fruitful service to the broken humanity. You live a witnessing life among lovely people, unguarded. I have been a distant admirer. In 2005, I accompanied Fr Santiago to buy warm clothes in Delhi, as he was preparing to journey to Afghanistan. I was privileged to work closely with the core team during Prem’s abduction. My short stint as JRS as International Deputy Director gave me another opportunity to interact closely, especially through the JRS online orientation course. I have heard many incredible change narratives, the fruit of your labour. The Afghanistan mission has helped me to deepen my Jesuit vocation. May God bless the mission.
