I had a very difficult childhood. I remember only war, violence, poverty and migration from place to place in Afghanistan, to protect ourselves from Taliban. During the Taliban regime, I lost my father when I was 8 years old. When I graduated from school in 2007, my biggest concern was to get higher education in order to build a better life. When I joined university to pursue my undergraduate studies, I was struggling financially, as my family couldn't support me. I joined JRS as a part-time English teacher and could support not only myself but also my family. JRS not only helped me to get a job and financial support, but also changed my life in many different ways. I got my Master's degree and am now pursuing my PhD, which I couldn’t even dream of before. This was possible by JRS’ help and support. I am really grateful to this amazing organization which truly helps people in need and individuals to make a change in their society.
